Season's first hot pot
Japanese culture is a little obsessed with seasons. Also, the first time you do a seasonal activity or eat a seasonal food in its season, it has special significance. Today was the first time I had nabe, one of the Japanese hot pot dishes. Nabe is a winter dish though, so although it is my "hatsu nabe" it is a bit early, especially since it was hot today! Oh well! It was craving it and it was perfect for waiting out this (unimpressive) typhoon. Today's ingredients: Chinese cabbage, green pepper, fried tofu, chicken meatballs, sausages, inoki mushrooms and radish. Yum!
