Was it me or was this concert a mess? Poor acoustics or sound balance? Drums that drowned out the other instruments, solos that rambled, an entire hour of music that sounded incoherent. Maybe they were under-rehearsed...?

The saving grace was the choir, which was local and amateur and superb; although white middle-class folk singing gospel never quite rings true to me. So we left at the interval - an hour was enough. Shame.
