Nearly ready

Not long after we first moved here, the fruit from one of our apple trees started to fall and before long we were up to our eyes in apples. We have another apple tree that is dripping with fruit but so far they're staying put. It seems like the walnuts will be next, about a dozen have fallen so far but the tree is full (and according to our neighbours hasn't produced this much in years). I have a box ready and waiting to store them in the airing cupboard, so they can dry put in time for Christmas (dealing with wet walnuts seems like far too much trouble!).
