Fake fall
My companions and I stopped at the Rheged Centre near Penrith on the way back from the Lake District. We spent some time watching this waterfall while having a coffee and debated how much of it was fake and how much was real. The pale rocks were definitely fake - I tapped them and they were hollow - but I maintained that the dark rocks were real as was the vegetation. However, I decided to leave it unsolved as I would otherwise have very likely ended up in the water. If you look carefully in large, you can see some divers made of wire mesh at the right hand side of the waterfall. On Saturday we had called in to the Royal Hotel in Dockray for a drink near the end of our walk and had seen quite a number of life-size figures made in this way. The artist's name is Michelle Castles and here is her website.
