Critique night

Tonight I met up with my photography friends Emma and Colin for the first of our new monthly critique nights. Basically the plan is to meet in a bar and go through a small selection of images, telling each other honestly what we like and dislike about them. Tonight was fairly easy, any 10 images from recent shoots or weddings, so of course we all picked our best images and there wasn't too much to criticise (though of course there's always something).

It was really great to see what kind of work my friends are doing, I try not to spend too much time looking at other photographers' websites so I really enjoyed the insight - I have some talented friends! :) And of course the photos always come with interesting stories about the people and places in them, which makes for some nice conversations. From next month on the themes become a lot more specific, with more restrictions on where the photos come from, so it should be more of a challenge for us all - I'm looking forward to it!
