Don't be alarmed
... it's only the Scottish Poetry Library. I should really have blipped this on the 3 October for National Poetry Day, but why run with the pack?
The library's founding director was the poet Tessa Ransford, and came into existence in 1984 with two staff members and 300 books. It now contains 30,000 items of Scottish and international poetry and considerably more than two members of staff.
In 1999 the library moved to this building in Chrichton's Close off the Canongate in the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Designed by Malcolm Fraser Architects it was shortlisted in 2000 for Channel 4's "Building of the Year".
This view is of the side wall of the building, because I like the colour.
