Bees

Had yet another wonderful summer day (we are down to six days before school starts) of fun times with friends at the pool. It was going so great, swimming, diving, throwing the ball around, and then wham! Everything changed in one split second. Lewis stepped on a bee and then our friend Ruby stepped on one, all when we were getting ready to pack up and head home for dinner. So 45 minutes later, after the stingers were removed, the screaming finally subsided, ice packs applied, and sworn statements that (at least) Lewis will never swim again, we headed home.

He is much better now. He talks as a only a veteran would, bitterly lamenting his struggle with the foe, but it's over now, and he might go back for a swim, one day.
