Welcome visitor

This goldfinch certainly filled up for the stormy weather that is forecast. He couldn't get enough in his beak at any one time! They are such colourful birds and I always love to see them. This is the first one that has stayed so close to the house for such a long time. I love the way the wind is ruffling his feathers.
I nearly blipped the sunrise this morning- for about 5 minutes the sky was flame red, at about 7am. Shepherd's warning and all that! It is now blowing a gale with squally showers.
