Sunset on Jawbone
This road is known locally as Jawbone Hill, marking the transition between the villages of Oughtibridge & Grenoside in Sheffield. The views from the top are spectacular and stretch from looking over the city centre and Don Valley to the south, Worral & the Peak District to the West and out over Wharncliffe Woods towards Stocksbridge in the North. It is believed that many hundreds of years the top of the hill, where the two villages meet, it was marked by the erection of two jaw bones of a whale that people had to pass under, hence the name Jawbone Hill.
