Salisbury Cathedral from Grovely...
Grovely and its ancient wood is five miles west of Salisbury, just the other side of Wilton. True, this image, taken at sunrise has been taken by a 9x magnifying zoom and cropped by about 30%, but even so, just shows what a majestic beacon the Cathedral Spire is and how it dominates the surrounding countryside.
Check out those recessive layers in LARGE (L key). Lens is Tamron SP 70-300mm VC, handheld.
Even to the naked eye, the pointy Spire skewered the horizon for much of my walk, this morning, which started out at 6a.m. And cold it was too!!
Success in the form of the Salisbury Journal as they used one of my photos and duly credited me, as they should. Read the online review HERE. Incidentally, this version looks better than the actual newspaper article, as they cropped it very heavily and it went a bit overexposed in print, so enjoy this one!
Big thanks has to go to everyone who viewed, commented, starred and favourited my Night-time misty Blip of yesterday. It even managed to knock jensphotos' excellent Icelandic northern lights Blip off the pole position in the Spotlights - I am very grateful to you ALL!
