Sydenham Lounge

A number of years ago the government changed aircraft flight paths to Mascot airport, which resulted in significant protests by Sydenham residents, to placate these people the government purchased a large number of affected homes. These homes, over many blocks, were demolished and quite a large park was established called Sydenham Green. This park contains a number of oversize items including a teapot, a fireplace and this lounge. I understand they represent the homes that once existed on the site.

The throw over the back of the lounge is a ceramic that represents a map of the area lost and the social impact.
