Gili Islands

Up nice and early and poor Morag clothes hadn't dried at all and neither her bag. Took a bus to the port and had to wait around for a long time until everyone walked over to the port. The boat was quite small for the amount of people they managed to squeeze onto it. We decided to sit on top of the boat as it was really claustrophobic inside. Anyway... after we got into the proper ocean we realised this was a very very bad idea! We were all getting completely soaked. I got my huge poncho out so we stayed a little dry and didn't get our little bags wet. We had to suddenly all get inside the boat as the waves were massive. Had to bum shuffle our way over as we couldn't stand otherwise we would have been having a crazy swim! Completely soaked through...but when we were inside the boat standing as we had no seats two of the windows came apart and masses of water gushed in. Both Morag and I were quite scared...luckily somehow they managed to fix them after a while. 2 and a half hours later we made it to the islands. The beach we arrived at was amazing, so it felt like it was worth going through it all! Walked around for half an hour trying to find a cheap place to stay. We found a cool basic chalet that was quite cheap. It has a hammock outside with a big double bed with a huge mossy net that looks like a princesses one!! It has an outdoor bathroom that is attached to our room. It is funny as it has no roof on so it feels like a mini garden. We went out to find something to munch at the beach. There are masses of really cool places. We went to one with a beach table. Had a prawn salad which was super small and had mostly onions and weird vegetables inside. We watched a strange lady aged 40+ built a sandcastle by herself which amused us! After our slightly disappointing lunch we walked along the beach and sunbathed. We both tried to go for a swim but it is rather hard as there is masses of coral so we both looked spazy trying to walk into the sea to then go and swim. The waves go the wrong way here which is so bizarre inside of going in our out they go side ways. When we got far too warm we went and sat on some huge bean bags and got a drink. Think they are the bizarre bean bags that we have at home. We then went and had a shower. Felt strange showering outside looking up at the sky! It was actually quite a good shower but it was freezing. We had supper out and we went to check out the nightlife but it didn't look great.
