Sing for your Supper

He's not actually singing, he shouting at the other birds on the nearby feeder because they are taking up all the perches and refusing to move. It's turned really cold today and has brought all the birds back to the garden to feed.
I am feeling a bit better today, the last couple of days were really a culmination of my car playing up yet again and my back problem not getting any better. Hubby has been trying to talk me into driving his car, which is an automatic, because pushing the clutch pedal to change gear in my car is painful for my back. I have resisted up until now because 1) I've been driving a manual car for more than 30 years and an automatic terrifies me, 2) his car is huge compared to mine and I don't like parking it. A couple of days ago I gave in and started having 'lessons' in hubby's car and I have finally overcome my fears. The left hand side of my body still feels redundant when I drive his car and it feels really weird to approach and pull away from a junction and do virtually nothing - I'm a bit of a control freak and I can't stand the feeling that the car is in control, I have just got to learn to trust it, I suppose.
If I can get over my control issues I will most probably change my car for an automatic, it should make things a little easier for me to get out and about even if it is an expense we could do without at the moment :-)
