Midweek Mayhem!
Sorry I'm a day late with this one but I just not have had a chance! The good news is that - you'll be astounded by this! - I actually got to the course centre in 16 minutes instead of an hour and a half and was sat outside Pret A Manger eating a hot bacon roll and slurping tea by the time my Monday tour guide Nigel sauntered round the corner from the Barbican tube station. I was really pleased with myself and thought all my direction troubles were over.
The day passed enjoyably with me eating my body weight in biscuits again. We were back up to a class of three. It was a gorgeous day so Lynn and I decided to wander around the block again taking more notice of everything this time. The sign outside one of the pubs caught my eye and we were having a laugh about it when this cheery chap came out and said 'Here I am!' Lynn asked him to pose for me which was great as I am a bit timid like that and wouldn't have asked in a million years!
Anyway, we got some food from a nearby bakery - I had a gigantic sausage roll, lemon drizzle cake and a can of cherry coke - and headed back to StayAhead. Going 'home' when learning for the day was finished, I was a bit overconfident and probably a bit hyper after all that sugar and forgot to turn off at Appold Street and soon found myself in the middle of nowhere. Well, it was actually Shoreditch High Street which was very close to my hotel but I didn't realise that and walked a very long way round! I rushed in and just had time to rush to the loo and brush my hair before going to The Water Poet pub next door to meet the very nice btc. From reading my previous blips Belvin knew I was a hopeless case when it comes to finding anywhere past the end of my nose and kindly arranged to meet close to me.
We had a great chat discussing all sorts of things including Blipfoto and we both got through a good few pints of real ale. The pub was huge and was absolutely full of office workers in suits and ties etc. I was quite amazed as I hadn't been in a pub that packed for years. It was a really nice evening and I was very relieved I didn't have far to go afterwards. I showed Belvin the pictures I had taken today and he said this had to be the one. I agreed!
There endeth Wednesday!
