Autumn colours

I have looked at this tree a few times from my side of the fence and thought that I must blip it. It is in my next door neighbours garden, which is why I'm not sure what it is.
In the Spring it has lovely bright green leaves but over the last few weeks it has gone redder and redder and as it has been very windy and quite nippy today I thought I had better get out and blip it quick before it is bare for winter!

As part of our big theme on 'water' I did my 'bucket' lesson this afternoon with year 5. (It was a bit chilly for it but I already cancelled it last week because it was raining.)
Two teams have to each carry a bucket of 5 litres/10 pints of water around the perimeter of the playground (one lap per person).
The opposing team, time them and tally their spills or deviations from the correct route! The best team bring the most water home safely in the best time without cheating!
They then estimate the volume and weight of the water and the distance they think they carried it (math!) and with additional math try to empathise with the real life distances of much bigger volumes of water that people in poor regions of the world have to carry.
It's a popular lesson.
