Today has been a day of mixed emotions... After the excitement of my sister in law announcing her pregnancy a few weeks back, the day of her 12 week scan was here. Such an exciting time. She had messaged me about being anxious that something was wrong and I reassured her that it was normal. An hour and a half later, I heard the sad news that she had a missed miscarriage. So devastating for her. And her boyfriend. Brought back so many memories I found it hard to concentrate at work. So at lunchtime I took myself for a walk round the marina to clear my head and just think. It has been a beautiful day. Cold, crisp and sunny. A perfect autumn day. But one that has left me with a heavy heart.
