This was the view out of my front door today!

Honestly, I was standing inside the house taking the picture...it is the Gas Board replacing a 100m length of pipe, which has become "high priority" due to a number of leaks. There are three holes in the road, barriers, vans, a portaloo, traffic control and lots of men in high vis jackets sitting in holes, and one man striding up and down with a clipboard....

It's been going on since last Friday and I don't think it is going to be finished very soon.

However inconvenient this work has been it's nothing compared to the electricity going off this afternoon for nearly 3 hours.

I couldn't work, phone anyone, or cook and had to cancel a meeting with a fellow blipper which was frustrating. Word is that it the wind has caused the problems with power lines down.

Oh and by the way after all your teasing comments I was filled with self doubt so went back to the wine glass to find it IS a water gauge after all.
