Country Inn
We had a long drive today, but I planned a couple of stops. One was the Covered Bridge Museum, which didn't allow photographs, and the other we didn't find as we took a wrong turn and ended up in New York State. So this is a picture of our hotel last night, the Inn at Manchester, which was very nice indeed. One thing I discovered at the Covered Bridge Museum is that, contrary to popular opinion, the roof isn't to keep the snow off; indeed, they would actually spread snow on the bridge to allow sleighs to use it. In fact, they are covered to keep the structure dry and prevent it from rotting. We're now in Newport, Rhode Island, and first impressions are very good.
