By-Election Season

By elections in Scotland often seem to cluster towards the end of the year. I can remember long cold nights in Paisley and Govan at various times in various autumns and Falkirk in 2000 took place just before Christmas ( indeed we had a photo call of canvassers dressed as Santas).

This morning I made my second visit to Dunfermline for the current campaign , feeling a slight chill in the air as I delivered leaflets in streets where falling leaves were starting to blow into gutters.
