Verreaux's Eagle

This is a screen grab from the live webcam, showing 'Emoyeni', the female of a pair of eagles presently nesting at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens near Johannesburg.

Following a failed breeding attempt during July, the pair with a later second attempt were successful, with an egg hatching on the 28th September, and the resultant chick appears to be doing very well.

I have been trying on and off today to get a grab of the youngster, but it only shows itself very briefly.

Will have to see whether I have more success in the coming week.
