Another early start to the day, but fortunately its the last 6 oclock start for this week. 5 hours sleep was definitely not enough, but talking with the bessie last night made it worth it.
It was our last class for e-marketing today, which I was a bit gutted about because I’ve really enjoyed it. But I got really excited that we had class in a big lecture theatre, rather than the normal little classrooms that we’re in...its the little things. I also signed up for a language course, as I figured I might as well if its offered anyways, so I’ll be learning Portuguese (properly) over the next few weeks.
I then had lunch with Ida and tried to calm her down with some accommodation things she’s been struggling with. Once that was sorted, I did some work before meeting to go for coffee with some friends in the old side of town. Vieux Lyon was very quiet and empty, which was actually quite nice compared to the crowds of people rushing through the little streets. So we sat down in a cute quirky café, and each had a nice hot drink to warm up on a chilly autumn afternoon. We walked around the old town for a little while longer until we split up to go into our separate directions. I made my way to teach English. The lesson passed by surprisingly fast. I had a few things prepared that I wanted to go through, but we didn’t even get half of it done. We listened to this song, worked through a little bit of grammar and vocabulary and once finished; I re-tuned his guitar and had a bit of a jam.
Crossing the bridge over the Rhône on my walk to the station, I had an overwhelming sense of appreciation and thankfulness, just amazed at how quickly I’ve settled and adapted to life here.
