Kingfisher

After yesterday, today was so bright and cheerful, a proper autumnal day. This little fellow reflected the day as his dazzling jewel like colours flashed in front of the hide at Spynie Loch and he settled on this branch just a few metres to the side of the hide. Fishing can't have been good as he stayed for about twenty minutes so I managed to get a few more shots. We have been trying to see him as he has been recorded on several occasions. As far as I am aware kingfishers are a rare sight this far north. The last one I saw in Scotland was in Fife. I would be interested to know if others have spotted them in Scotland as they do seem to be spreading further north.
