First Responder Duty

I am a member of the First Responder Group in North Berwick. We are voluntary members of the Scottish Ambulance Service and are sent out to local 999 calls if someone is having a cardiac arrest, has chest pains, breathing difficulties or has had a collapse. We are there to assist and give first aid until the ambulance arrives. This is our First Responder pack which contains basic a first aid kit, oxygen and a defibrillator. I was on call this evening but I didn't get called out.

It's a very rewarding thing to do - like being in the lifeboat crew. I really feel I am putting something back into the community and the people we help are always very grateful.
