No Regrets....
......congratulations to Drew. He's a native of Tasmania, but has lived in the UK, and in particular Scotland, for a few years now and decided that his love of the Queen was so strong that he'd undertake the citizenship ceremony yesterday. It seems to be a bit like joining the Scouts where you swear to do your duty to the Queen???? Highlight for him was being told off my the Lord Provost for doing bunny ears behind the portrait of the queen when having his photo taken.
When he got back to work today, everyone had contributed an item representing the culture of their UK country of origin in a box*. He was delighted with his Irish Stew, Scotch Pie (Halal), Irn Bru, assorted tartan tat made in China, Welsh Leek, Porridge Oats, Scottish Tablet, Shorty, English Rose, and Tunnock Tea Cakes......which is all good news for the tea time biscuit box.
*I should mention that the definition of an item representing the culture of a country was stretched to its widest possible sense with most of the gifts....
