Burano - a photographers paradise

Today is my last full day here in Venice before returning home late tomorrow and, as I had planned all week to cross the lagoon to the island of Burano, I was disheartened to wake to overcast skies and rain. Lucky for me that by the time I arrived the rain had stopped and the sun was doing its best to show up.

This general view, taken with my little compact, doesn't really do it justice but I do hope it gives some idea of the colour that is in abundance here and I highly recommend a visit if you should come to Venice. It's a photographers and artists paradise. I've taken literally hundreds of images today and I'm going to have my work cut out when I get home sorting them out.

Before then it's certainly time for some refreshment lots of wine.
