Doig

Late to the party... I've been so busy during August and September that I've not had a chance until now to see the Peter Doig exhibition at the National Gallery.

I had a suspicion that I wouldn't "get" it and I was right. I'd hoped that seeing the paintings in the flesh would be a moving experience but it wasn't. Just didn't feel it. Glad to be there, though, and to see them. (Made me long for the Joan Eardley Retrospective that the SNG put on a few years back. Colour and intent radiated from the canvases.)
