I am now embarked upon a 4 year PhD course in biosciences (I'll probably focus on plants). Currently I'm enjoying it, but presumably the workload will get me down at some points. As someone who always enjoyed reading new things in books it fills good to be trying to make some knowledge after consuming so much.

This is DNA ligase, an enzyme which joins together compatible pieces of DNA; I'm using it to make a small circle of DNA called a plasmid.
