Salvias

Had a lovely afternoon at Great Comp where they hold a national collection of salvias. There was a good variety of plants and the garden included a woodland walk with a great number of oak and silver birch trees - lovely in the autumn light. They had planted different grasses with the salvias which was really effective. Gorgeous colours, surprising this late in the season, including some showy dahlias, still-flowering hydrangeas and striking yellow rudbeckias.
