Kelmscott manor

We drove out today, with my friend Ann, who is visiting from Waltham forest, to Kelmscott manor on the Oxfordshire-Gloucestershire border. Ann is the friend with whom I visited William Morris house in Walthamstow last May, so she had come especially for this trip to Morris' Cotswold home . CleanSteve has written about our trip in detail, so once again I don't need to. I had been there before, but not since 2002, so there have been various acquisitions since then. We had a grand day out, culminating in a pub lunch by the river Thames at Lechlade and a trip to LIDL in Cirencester! Now it is 12.23 and we are still up drinking a Spanish liquor made of acorns. The fire has gone out, and the rain is gently filling the valleys with scents and sounds of autumn.
