Who is my neighbour?

Palestinian families were evicted from this house in Sheikh Jarrah, and Jewish religious families from New York moved in. Since the occupation of East Jerusalem there has been a steady campaign to move out Palestinian families who could not produce the required papers, with the courts tending to side with the settlers. Some of the Palestinian families were longstanding residents, some were displaced from West Jerusalem in 1948. Some of the new settlers are extremely aggressive and harass their Arab neighbours at night. Israeli leftwingers and international activists have been coming here to demonstrate against them. Lord knows what this little girl thinks of it all...
