Out of place
This is a gannet, a juvenile one.
It is about 2 miles from Leeds City Centre. It was later seen near Driffield and returned to this spot the following day. It is out of place, an anomaly, such is the joy of birding, although in the case of a bird that should be in the North Sea it is not so joyful. It seemed in good health so it might make it back out to sea, but many such anomalies are destined to fade and die.
A bit like my job really, which today was restructured and became obsolete. I'll be having a change of job title if I'm lucky over the next few weeks or month, if I'm not....
