Dragonfly Drops In

I was thrilled to see this Dragonfly perched on my large cactus today. Happened to have my phone in my pocket so I instantly started getting some shots in case he decided to take off. After about ten shots he hadn't moved a whisker so I thought I'd dash inside and get the macro lens onto the camera.

The whole time I was thinking it was a waste of time because surely he would have taken off by now! But no, there he was just waiting to be macro's and blipped!!

I had to get very close and intimate and managed a couple of shots of his wings, but he didn't like it and was getting agitated. He stayed there for a little bit longer and then took off like a small jet!

I'll put the wing shots up tomorrow in my folio, but for now I'm happy with this one. I love the way he's holding onto the spikes of the cactus and I'm sure he is smiling at me! :o)
