Life is a Challenge!

PINK DAY 13 - KNITTED IN PINK

It was good to go to church this morning after almost 6 weeks away - in fact, I wondered if they might think we were newcomers!

It was a great service and much like going away on holiday and coming back to sleep in your own bed, although we have enjoyed the Salvation Army at Boscombe, it was good to come back into our own church family at Lawn Community Church.

The people there know us - and we know them. We know the struggles that our friends are having so we can pray with them and stand alongside them as they come to terms with long term illness, stress in the workplace, bringing up children, coping when families live away from home and other situations and issues that they have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. We can share, we can talk, we can listen and we can thank God for each other.

We were reminded that the church is not the building but the people and that's what we miss when we are away - our friends.

These three ladies are part of our church - and each of them has ongoing situations in their lives to deal with, but with the grace of God they carry on.

I was pleased to see that Liz, in the middle, was wearing one of her hand-knitted cardigans and that it was PINK, which fits in well with the Breast Cancer Awareness Month Challenge. I can knit quite well, but if I get confused with a pattern, then I go to see Liz, who is the knitting expert. And if I get confused with life, then I go to God in prayer, who is more than ready to listen and to help me.

Share each other’s troubles and problems,
and so obey our Lord’s command.
