Geese on the wing

It is that time of year when we are over run by migrating birds. The field we stopped by had nearly a thousand geese in it, but the ones nearest me took to flight when I brought out my camera.

The birds can do harm to crops and can be a menace but this was an empty field already cut is not causing any problems, and is just above a loch allowing the birds good views, and near by water. They will have gone by the end of the week!
