Nice find

I had a work party at the nature reserve today and we all got completely soaked and...finished early! This gave me time to follow up some surveying I did yesterday in another wood in the valley. I'm now sure that this is Soft Shield Fern, Polystichum setiferum, a scarce plant in this area. I was aware of an old record for the valley so as soon as I saw it, on a steep bank, I thought it might be this species. It's an interesting wood that no-one seems to have visited to check the plants and fungi so I'm now looking forward to more discoveries.
