Life is short

Once upon a time there was recipe for a beer & chocolate cake and it seemed delicious but it was made with a (tasty but) generic beer.
So I thought: "How can I make this better?"
The obvious choice was (Paw Paw Brewing Company's) Jake's Vanilla Bean Porter but the Beloved managed to kick that keg on Friday evening when we were there and their general store was closed today so he decided on the next best thing: the Black River Oatmeal Stout.
I haven't been able to make it all into a catchy name because BROS was a horrible band AND a Dutch kind of chocolate candy bar so neither covers the rich lusciousness that is this cake. Chocolate Oatmeal Stout Cake? Chocolate Brew Cake?

We had it instead of dinner, though. Life is short, eat dessert first.
