Belated birthday

As we were apart on his actual birthday it was time to make a fuss of our best boy today. It started with a lie in, croissants, coffee, presents, cards and two eager helpers. Then there was a long walk, a fruitless search for conkers and a scrumptious apple birthday cake. It ended with a date, oysters, champagne and a walk home and hand in hand.
