Silence in court...

Day trip to Inverary and went round the old jail which also includes the court room that was in use till 1954. Excellent use is made of mannequins to act as judge, lawyers, jury, accused and spectators. We heard three cases in about ten minutes, something advocates could learn from, and sentences included transportation, imprisonment and whipping.

The use of models was so good that I had a terrible shock when one of the "mannequins" spoke to me once we moved to the actual jail. She was a very forbidding character.

All in all a good place to visit.
