The Prospect of Whitby

My friend Rob from university days in Cape Town has lived in Canada for the past 40 or so years - about the same time as I have been in London. We had a good walk down the Thames today to Greenwich and passed this famous old pub on the way where we had downed the occasional pint all that time ago. We didn't stay to have one this time, but went on to The Grapes now owned by actor Ian McKellen - smaller but an absolute gem, and with equally lovely views over the river.
