At Leisure in Devon

Today was one of those perfect days. The rain had beaten against the transom window all night but the dull morning gradually gave way to a glorious Autumn day. We strolled down the road to the beachside cafe for breakfast, walked the dogs in the woods then decided to drive to Topsham just outside Exeter for the afternoon.
Topsham on the Exe Estuary was once a larger port than Exeter itself. It is delightfully compact and has a mixture of fascinating architecture including Dutch style merchants houses numerous antique shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants.
It is also very expensive. A Georgian house, with direct street access, would set you back £900,000 and the shops are awash with barbours and Agas
