The Boots say Goodbye...

If your following my journal, here's the state of my boots despite the work I did on the 18th August!

Already long in the tooth, I wanted to do one last big hike in these 10 year old boots, they managed the 55km of the Laugavegurinn Hike in Iceland from Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk but they aren't looking too happy!

And as if they knew they'd reached the end, during the last two hours the soul developed that huge flap and scuffed up the pebbles from the ground as I walked.

I couldn't bring myself to cremating them as planned, might put them on a wall in a box frame...after they've dried out!
