And so was I. I hadn't driven this lane for several years but had to today for road closures. There was much public disquiet when planning was granted for many wind turbines on the hills above the North Devon coast but it was my first visit through and closely under them today. They were quiet, stately and oddly reassuring and adding to, rather than detracting, from the landscape.
