Caught by surprise!

Holiday Day 7.

Last full day of our holiday ...... why does time seem to go so fast when you are enjoying yourself? It just doesn't seem fair :-(

Still we have had a brilliant time :-)

This afternoon we decided to take a trip to Doxy Marshes ....... we had been there before last May & it was lovely.

Not being entirely sure of the last part of the journey ..... we used the sat-nav ....... mistake! Because the marsh is just off the M6 it decided to take us across country ....... through very narrow lanes ...... to the M6. Ok not a problem really? WRONG!!!! As we turned onto the slip road ....... we hit the traffic!!! There had been an accident & there were huge queues. We only had 5 miles to travel along the motorway ..... this took over an hour. Still we did make it eventually.

We had a lovely afternoon ..... we saw Buzzards, Cormorants (including 2 juveniles), Lapwings & watched a large flock of Starlings bathing at the water's edge.

As we were walking past the reed beds ..... there was a sudden rustling sound ...... & up flew this Heron! I raised the camera & took the shot ...... this was what I got ........ do hope you like it :-)
