The Italian Connection

Gavin Bechelli and his sister, Gillian, (far right) are the fourth generations of the Bechelli family to run the famous Allanwater café in Bridge of Allan.

Their great, great grandfather was among the Italians who left the remote village of Barga to settle in Scotland.

The café, established in 1902, is famous for its fish and chips, home made ice cream and friendly welcoming attitude and is a focal point for both locals and visitors to our small Victorian spa town.
