Every few weeks, I drag out my tired old shredder and shred some woody material that won't easily break down in my compost pile. The machine grunts, groans, and sometimes just quits on me. When it quits, I need to wait a few weeks for it to recuperate before using it again.

Sometimes, we all feel that way.
