Day 9. Xcaret
A last minute decision today to go to xcaret, a Eco park and a great idea it was.
Today looked a bit different, there were clouds!! Not seen one in 8 days. So we thought lets go there. On the drive to the park the heavens opened, wow!
At one point I held on tight to my babies as it was a scary drive. The bug waves of water from the raid skimming the car didn't seem to bother the taxi driver!!!
The babies loved the park, there was so much to see and do. Lots of animals and birds and a live show ' the flying men' it was just as it said on the tin. 4 men climbed a very high pole, tired rope around their ankle and span and flew down! It was crazy and to top it off most the men were really old!
Next stop the aquarium. It was a very hands on aquarium which the babies loved. We came out and saw the sea turtles, the sharks and the rays. Caleb also tried to get in with the rays!!
We went on the river boat which was lovely and the water is so clear its unreal.
After food and another walk around we headed to get out life jackets for a dip in the water. It was the rivers that run through, under and around the park. They are the natural waters, crystal clear but freezing!!!!! There is a trail that you can follow but we thought a dip was enough. Mark went in first, followed by Erin who didn't seem to care about how cold it was. Caleb just couldn't wait to get in, me I couldn't think of anything worse but I had a dip then straight back out. So proud of the babies as it was crazy cold!!!
We dried off and headed off to see the show. When the heavens open yet again, so be time we got there (5 minute walk) we were soaked. The show was all about traditional Mexico and was beautiful, Erin managed to fall asleep during some drumming and caleb clapped through the whole show :)
It was such a lovely day so glad we went!
