Warning - Bees
MrB called this evening while on his evening ride/walk with his dog Donna, saying he wanted to pop by as he had something for us. Expecting at least a half wild pig or deer for the freezer, Angie was over the moon when he "only" turned up with a warning sign to put next to the bee hives!
Peter had read yesterday's Blip with the forestry workers out & about around the house and thought they should be warned of the dangers. In fact it is not as funny as it sounds. Being Germany, I would be responsible if someone put their head in the bee hive and then landed up in hospital. Same for the electric horse fences or the smallest of building work or a crumbling shed - warning signs for everything.
Peter had made the sign himself, yellow letters on a black background and well visible with the flash! Heard no screams today but no chainsaws either, so I guess they have moved on.
The photo also shows the hives now down to one layer and at the weekend the loaned green middle box will be replaced by my own. Now I need to buy two complete hives to be ready for spring 2014.
