El Catedral de Vi

At long last we got to go round this beautiful old co-operative building where grapes, olives and nuts are still processed, although of course the old concrete wine vats have been replaced by stainless steel. The tour was thankfully in Catalan, although she spoke far too quickly, and was followed by a lunch with friends at a nearby restaurant. The main thing I gleaned from the jumble of language was that they used to send a cat into the building to see if it survived the fumes, if it emerged ok then the men would enter to work!
