Having spent 4 days in Hong Kong we've come to Macau for the last 2 days of our trip. Up until 1999 it was a Portuguese territory and the old town is lovely and very European. However the new town is all about the casinos and it now takes more money than Las Vegas!!

This picture is taken in the Venetian hotel which is the largest casino in the world and has a canal plus gondolas running through it...classy!

Went to gamble tonight but the amount of money I was willing to gamble (£30) wouldn't even get me a game on the low end tables. The casinos were all full and people must be gambling 1000s. Unreal. Since we got a free bottle of water we actually beat the casino!!
