Jamaica Inn

We spent a lovely afternoon in Kirkby Lonsdale, a place about 18 miles from where we live and which we drive over to fairly regularly.

Much to our surprise, parts of the beautiful market town had been transformed into a BBC film set for the production of a major drama, Jamaica Inn, based on a 19th century novel by Daphne du Maurier and we watched the cast and crew for some time as they shot scenes around St. Mary's Church.

The production will star Downton Abbey's Jessica Brown-Findlay.
